Really, what IS Ann's point anyway? I mean Jeff G. has a famously thin skin, but this whole thing began with some pointless snark on her part, and her defenders have some pretty flimsy constructs they're leaning on.

She may have some valid concerns about Pajama Media and the direction it could take the blogosphere, but this kind of grade-school stick poking is doing nothing to advance whatever legitimate arguments she may have had.

Exactly.

When these Blogosphere 'spats' - or other issue-based controversies on the web - occur, it is great when a single blogger chooses to do a comprehensive entry, with a summary of the whole situation. (Then again, this can be difficult, because more activity in the dialogue/debate/flame war could occur, after that summary post is published.)

Incidentally, I actually came to this blog tonight (this morning!) to one of your entries from like February, because I was looking through the entries by bloggers that were about another controversy that arose in the Blogosphere, around that time. For some reason, I had missed that one (that's what happens when your both a full-time student and a CR Chairman, I guess), and it was informative, and somewhat entertaining, to read about it.

I was going to type here that I wasn't able to access that post by Patterico - but I just clicked again, and it is showing up. Perhaps it was an internet problem on my end.

By the way, I nominated his weblog last night/morning, for the "Best Law Blog" category, in the annual Weblog Awards Contest. I hope he gets chosen for the ballot.

He'd also be a great contender in the "media" category, since he writes so much about problems in the L.A. Times' coverage of the news.
