Totally off topic, Atilla, I hope you'll forgive me. I just watched 60 Minutes and saw Bob Simon's piece on the Danish cartoon imbroglio, and I needed to vent to somebody sane and sympathetic.

What a load of dingo's kidneys!! He even mentioned the fraudulent Mohammad-Pigface cartoon except he directly implied that it was genuine. Simon had an extensive interview with Ahmed Abu-Laban, the chief hoaxer himself, and made no mention of what everybody with an open mind and broadband knows already. Instead Simon proceeds to indict THE DANES, of all people, for being so insensitive as to expect Muslims who immigrate to Denmark to respect Danish tradition and law. I don't know who is the biggest enemy these days, Amadinejad or Jeffery Fager!!!

That's the pathetic thing: the network guys don't do their homework--not at all. So their programs are geared, more and more, to the lowest common denominator. These audiences are, no matter their level of education, the trailer trash of the information age. And, sadly, they still believe what they're told.

But their ranks are dwindling by the day, as the rest of the world surges ahead.

Still, you might write a letter while you're all worked up: the crew at 60 Minutes ought to know that someone caught them again.

Yeah, I blasted one out ten minutes after the segment ended. We'll see, but it seldom does any good. In extremis some half-educated junior producer may get the chop, but the boys with the big salaries and expense accounts have nothing to fear.

I only hope blogs like yours continue to counter the rusty, creaking, decadent MSM.

It is increasingly odd that we don't see this kind of reporting in the MSM. I mean, what Bill is doing here is pretty amazing when you consider it: he's providing, as far as I can, the only tactical news on the security situation. That's versus a media that has a budget in the tens of billions. The MSM only report "X U.S. soldiers killed by Y" and it's as if they are blind to the whole rest of the picture.

Come on, all those operations on the Euphrates and not one story about them on the AP feed? What the hell?

Mind-boggling.
