Not Content to Advocate Genocide,

. . . Steyn suggests we just get ready for summer in the city.

What choice are we going to have when both Rudi and John McCain are vying to outdo the Dems in getting Global Warming plans enacted? It should be part of the platform, no global warming knee-jerk reactions. Don't give the UN power to tax Americans directly!

Having read a few of Steyn's books, I don't recall seeing anything that would advocate genocide. I see numerous instances to him predicting genocide on the continent in the next few decades, but that's hardly the same thing. If you're equating prediction with advocacy, then I guess Al Gore is advocating the extermination of the entire human race...

William: you're new around here, aren't you? Kick off your shoes. Stay a while.

Miss Attila is too modest. She already covered the Steyn
thing at http://littlemissattila.mu.nu/archives/216278.php .

But...but...but...THINK OF THE ALTERNATIVE?!!

The horror... The horror...

Ah, I don't know. What's Romney's position on Kyoto? Ron Paul's? We do have choices.

As per Bob's comment, I see that Miss Attila has indeed addressed this. And yes, I am indeed new around here. It looks like I broke the cardinal rule about speaking before thinking. I missed the sarcasm, and took the subject as read.

Mea culpa maxima. Apologies to one and all.

I'm not a single-issue voter, but I'm damned close. I vote on the War on Terror, and little else matters.

Because without Western culture, nothing really counts.

Posted by: Attila Girl at February 25, 2007 08:38 PM

Without a US economy with a strong industrial base, we'll have to be content to fight the War on Terror with cartoons. And the blood spurting from our necks.

No, I am an adult that realizes that it's often about the lesser of two evils when it comes to elections. I also know that voting for a candidate that has zero chance of winning is like voting for the opposition. I'll always remember that Barack Obama told Chicago Magazine that "he was to the Left of Lenin" when he was running for his Senate seat. I notice that they have been trying to sanitize that remark by attributing it to someone else ( a fellow Dem) that now claims "the quote overstated his point and it was just kind of a joke anyway." Look for the original article to be hard to find in the coming year. It already was in a Google search.

Someone should send Rudi over to Junkscience. Or give him a "1 degree over 150 years, spread over a 365-day Year. Deal with it" t-shirt.

About Joy W. McCann: I've been interviewed for Le Monde and mentioned on Fox News. I once did a segment for CNN on "Women and Guns," and this blog is periodically featured on the New York Times' blog list. My writing here has been quoted in California Lawyer. I've appeared on The Glenn and Helen Show. Oh—and Tammy Bruce once bought me breakfast.
My writing has appeared in
The Noise, Handguns, Sports Afield, The American Spectator, and (it's a long story) L.A. Parent. This is my main blog, though I'm also an alumnus of Dean's World, and I help out on the weekends at Right Wing News.
My political philosophy is quite simple: I'm a classical liberal. In our Orwellian times, that makes me a conservative, though one of a decidedly libertarian bent.
