On Mass Transit
Which could be a normal part of our infrastructure, but isn't, most of the time.

A good public transportation system can be seen in Singapore as well; their MRTs pretty much underlie everywhere you could possibly think of going. And, with their draconian public safety and hygiene/behaviour regs, it's a dream to ride in.
Of course, they only have 4 million people in a 26-mile diameter island.
1. More bloody trains per time duration!
2. No packing people! We're humans, not sardines!
3. Automate, automate, automate!
4. Deregulation! Competition!
All of this, and you might get something resembling a proper public transportation system.
Oh, Singapore.
This is one of those funny areas for me, because I'm supposed to be a good libertarian, but I am also a female, so I cannot be a Wild West purist and tell you that I think everyone should be able to do what they want to.
I'm a big Fourth Amendment girl (that's the "no unreasonable search-and-seizure thing), but I'm also way into "law and order." The reason for this is that I've spent a fair amount of my life poor (or at least cash-strapped), and so I've had to live in areas where I didn't feel safe.
My lefty friends who think "gentrification" means "oh, dear: all those good honest poor people will get forced out of their homes" wring their hands when a Starbucks makes its way into a neighborhood. I just think, "every streetlight, and every extra person on the sidewalk, means that some woman isn't getting raped or mugged."
That--along with rail transport--is a chink in my libertarian armor.
