Aw. Come On.

Proper computer wear for conservatives consists of panties, a tank top or loose bra, and a robe, hoodie, or flannel shirt nearby for when the midnight breeze rushes in through the sliders. (Close the windows? No, never: it ranges between 80 and 95 degrees during the afternoons around here.)

And socks. Always socks. Wool most of the year; cotton during the dog days.

Let's stick to the facts, Chris.

And full-on pajamas? Strictly for wimps. With, um, all due respect.

Or, you know, jocks/briefs/boxers. If you're a guy conservative.

And maybe a T-shirt. Won't catch me in a tank top anytime soon. Torso, hands or otherwise. [sigh]

There are guy conservatives? Oh, cool.

Can we compromise on a muscle shirt, if a tank top/ribbed undershirt ("wife beater") is too immodest?

I'm afraid that I simply cannot condone sleeves on casual wear for males. The male shoulder is an important piece of anatomy that . . . . becomes unhealthy if not exposed to sufficient oxygen.

You do realize, do you not, that the pores in human skin are part of the human respiratory system?

Please don't take chances with your health.

I shoulda got the socks right, damn.

They tend to be fluffy, and striped. Just so you know.

Posted by: Attila Girl at July 9, 2008 09:49 AM

It's been nearly forty years since I owned any pajamas.

Posted by: CGHill at July 9, 2008 04:46 PM

By heaven, what's wrong with all of you? Socks are too damned hot, dammit! Keep them feet bare, Chris - we can always pour chocolate and peanut butter or honey on 'em later.

:)
Yeah, how about a real thin, lightweight sleeved singlet? I sweat, you know, and underarm odour isn't something anybody should have to put up for too long...

Kong speaks!

Posted by: Chris Muir at July 9, 2008 06:37 PM

I'm cool with the singlet thing. And as long as the guy showers every 24 hours (and after heavy labor or really amazing/intense sex), some smell is good. I mean, one of the best parts of a man is that patch of hair in the middle of the male chest. Why?--Because that's where the pheromones live.

Pheromones are the bestest thing in the world, other than martinis.

Posted by: Attila Girl at July 9, 2008 06:43 PM

Yes, Kong speaks. Kong also reads, writes, and does arithmetic. And blogs. Occasionally, anyways.

But perhaps you would like to speak to my uncle, Jiang Zemin. It's just that he spells using Haunyu Pinyin, and I spell using the old romanisation. Otherwise I would be Jiang Zewen. Which is a truly not-so-hot name...

I was wondering whether I should touch that issue: "no, Chris--he's not making an allusion to the movie character!" Then I considered the notion that it was a family name (an uncle's or cousin's) that you'd adapted as a nom de blog partly BECAUSE of your affinity for American culture, and that the King Kong movie was part of your reasoning for doing that.

So I kept my mouth shut; I hate advertising my ignorance of matters cinematic, or rather of their importance to most of the world.

Well... Fay Wray*. 'nuff said, right?

*okay, I'd be a necrophile if I went after her now, but still, that's what film is for, right? :)

But no, that's my real name; I'm not so fussed about identity theft in this respect.

/could be worse
//parents could have named be George
///and then where would I be? Haven't kissed any girls yet...
////made them cry, yes. Sit on them, yes. Grabbed their chests & asses, yes. Kissed, not so much.

About Joy W. McCann: I've been interviewed for Le Monde and mentioned on Fox News. I once did a segment for CNN on "Women and Guns," and this blog is periodically featured on the New York Times' blog list. My writing here has been quoted in California Lawyer. I've appeared on The Glenn and Helen Show. Oh—and Tammy Bruce once bought me breakfast.
My writing has appeared in
The Noise, Handguns, Sports Afield, The American Spectator, and (it's a long story) L.A. Parent. This is my main blog, though I'm also an alumnus of Dean's World, and I help out on the weekends at Right Wing News.
My political philosophy is quite simple: I'm a classical liberal. In our Orwellian times, that makes me a conservative, though one of a decidedly libertarian bent.
