"It Takes Ten Years To Get Oil."

It always takes ten years to get oil.

As a matter of fact, if I wanted to fetch some olive oil from my pantry tonight, I wouldn't really be able to sauté anything with it until 2018. At the earliest.

Hej Miss Attila, I´m searching for some design-ideas for my own blog, that is planned to be on in about a month. And what I want to say to you: your blog is just beautiful!! really nice! do you use wordpress, blogger.com?

Posted by: Billigflug at July 31, 2008 07:25 AM

Because I am part of a blogging collective, I use a creaky old version of Movable Type. I'd really like to update to a better version, but then I'd have to get a "real site."

Unfortunately, I've fallen out of touch with the woman who did this design. Her name's Julie, and she works from New York.

I'll post it if I can find it.

Not the first to mention it, and read it around the blogosphere so no personal loss to me, but...

Linky no worky.

There we go again: the Chinese lording their superior intelligence over the Caucasions . . . ;) Or the engineers making fun of the English majors. One of the two . . .

Posted by: Attila Girl at July 31, 2008 06:04 PM

C'mon already!!!
Why doesn't some Republican grow some and say that the Democrats should start 'splaning now why they didn't do something about it TEN YEARS AGO. Or TWENTY. BO says that we can save as much oil as there is to drill in the arctic and the OCS if we'd only keep our tires properly inflated and nobody call him a fucking MORON. Forget Spanish, go back and take math, Mr. Lightwonker.

Now let's examine that "We'd only save $25 bucks if we'd give a Summer gas tax holiday" statement. Oh, forget it.

CaucasiOns? Hmm.

Eh, just having fun.

It's Friday Night,
And the feeling's right,
Oh, yes, it's Friday Night
O what a night!

//not even though my passport says so
///and it expires in 2 weeks anyways
////although having a pair of my own bazoombas might be interesting for a few minutes

How did THAT happen? That's a hell of a clerical error.

Posted by: Attila Girl at August 3, 2008 01:46 AM

Not the only one affected, either. When I marched up to the counter to demand an explanation, the fellow just turned to his superior and said, "Hey, boss, same problem-lah" ('lah' being the equivalent of the period, denoting the end of sentences, or an intensifier, as in "Don't-lah be like that")

Now, if I was the first, I'd hear "Hey, boss, we got a problem here."

If I was the 2nd, or maybe the 5th, I'd hear "Hey, boss, another one here."

Dammit, to hear "Hey, boss, same problem" indicates to me the frontline dude's been getting that complaint non-stop.

Never did capitalise on it, though - imagine Ladies' night, using Ladies' shower and locker rooms,

About Joy W. McCann: I've been interviewed for Le Monde and mentioned on Fox News. I once did a segment for CNN on "Women and Guns," and this blog is periodically featured on the New York Times' blog list. My writing here has been quoted in California Lawyer. I've appeared on The Glenn and Helen Show. Oh—and Tammy Bruce once bought me breakfast.
My writing has appeared in
The Noise, Handguns, Sports Afield, The American Spectator, and (it's a long story) L.A. Parent. This is my main blog, though I'm also an alumnus of Dean's World, and I help out on the weekends at Right Wing News.
My political philosophy is quite simple: I'm a classical liberal. In our Orwellian times, that makes me a conservative, though one of a decidedly libertarian bent.
