I'm pretty sure I saw Resurrection Mary in 1972. I had a part-mine car repair business with a friend, and we were on our way home from the junkyard with a transmission in the trunk. Our customers needed cheap. It was a Sunday in late August, about 6 PM, and we took a different road back because of road repair that had started on the way we came. We were both tried and thirsty, and out of cigarettes, so when we came to a commercial strip, I spotted a little convenience store open and I told my friend to put on the shoulder that had fifteen -minute parking. On the other side of the road there was diagonal parking on an even-wider shoulder in front of the stores. The speed limit was 15-MPH in front of the strip, and we spotted cops from that suburb in a speed trap down the road, waiting in a cemetery entrance, almost out of view. Just before he turned onto the shoulder, I noticed a girl about 16 or so wearing a pink party dress. Her dress and her hair style looked dated. It also struck me that, given our speed, I should have noticed her down the road much earlier. When we were pulling over as we passed her, she put her thumb out for a ride. I was watching her in the side-view mirror and it seemed odd that somehow she was making great eye contact with me. It literally took me two second to open the door (I wanted to run in the store while the road was clear) and get out of the car--I was going to ask her where she was going and tell her if we could take her. I was also going to ask her if she wanted a pop or anything from the store. But she was gone. There was no other traffic at the time. It was at least 40-feet to the nearest doorway, and I could see blocks in both directions. There was no way she could have moved that fast and gotten out of my sight. My friend wasn't curious at all. He had seen her because we talked about giving her a ride given how dead the road was. I asked him to explain where she had gone and he didn't know, but her didn't think it was a mystery.

After going to the store, when we got to the point where the cops was waiting, I noticed the name in gold letters on the wrought-iron gates--"Resurrection Cemetery". I didn't know it was there at the time.
