The racial barrier that needs to be broken is the one that keeps blacks in the Democratic Party.

They are leaving in droves, and it's approaching critical mass. Once Big O starts breaking his explicit promises, along with the delusional ones people inferred, the migration may gain momentum . . .

So far, Hamas has drafted a letter of congratulations to Obama, Russia is aiming missiles at Poland, Iran and Venezuela are ecstatic, and Iran has also warned us that our choppers had better not fly too close to their border. We are off to a heck of a start for one day since the debacle! Apparently our enemies are quicker on the uptake than the American people are.

He may surprise us--particularly if he wants two terms. There is no way around it: he must either Carter it and be out in four years, or Clinton his way to the center in hopes of bagging a second term.

Meanwhile, we organize around libertarian, free-market principles, and support the fresh talent we have (Jindal, Palin, etc.).

There are going to be a lot of disillusioned Obama supporters in 2-4 years, and if we can present coherent plans that adhere to our principles, we should be in good shape for the ideological counterassault.

In the meantime, this guy is our CIC. "You salute the rank; not the man."

The Achilles' Heel of Democrats since at least 1968 has been foreign policy. Granted, the Republicans haven't always been champs, but not even Bush's handling of Iraq beats out Carter's handling of Iran for sheer incompetence.

Not even close. Bush stumbled a little, but he got the job done. And he didn't, a la LBJ, try to fight a war without really fighting it--when we needed to turn up the heat, he listened to advice and did it.

So we won. None of his mistakes can take that away.
